Due to lack of demand, the Hill Training, 5k and 10k programs have been cancelled.


Hill Training
   

WALKING PROGRAM  what     when    where    cost    supplies     contact    registration

WHAT: This program will slowly build the endurance to 1 hour or more for health purposes. Participants should be capable of walking briskly for 20 minutes. Be sure to check with your doctor prior to starting any fitness program. The goal will be for all that finish the program to be able to complete the Annapolis Women's Distance Festival 5K (3.1 miles) in Annapolis, Maryland, on Saturday, July 10th.

WHEN: Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. starting April 17th, 2010 and going until July 10th, 2010. [Note: No training program on Saturdays, May 29th and July 3rd, 2010.]

WHERE:  The workouts are held at Lake Accotink Park located at 7500 Accotink Park Road in Springfield, Virginia. Lake Accotink may be reached from I-95 by taking Old Keene Mill Rd. west to right on Hanover Avenue to left on Highland Avenue to right on Accotink Park Road to front entrance on left. There is plenty parking available. We are at the shelter on the hill next to the merry-go-round.

COST:  The $150.00 cost is a one time non-refundable fee. The fee covers administrative costs and speakers. Please fill out the registration form and submit with check made payable to: Start Right Fitness LLC.

SUPPLIES:  Each participant should bring a water bottle that attaches to your body and a digital watch to practice each week.

WHAT:  This program will guide the participants from a walk-run beginning to a 40 minute nonstop run. Participants should be capable of walking briskly for 20 minutes. Be sure to check with your doctor prior to starting any fitness program. WHAT:  This program will guide the participants to run a 10K (6.2 miles). Participants should be capable of running nonstop for 30 minutes. The goal will be for all that finish the program to be able to complete the Friends of W&OD 10K (6.2 miles) in Vienna, Virginia, on Saturday, July 31st at 6:30 p.m.

WHENSaturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. starting April 17th, 2010 and going until July 10th, 2010. [Note: No training program on Saturdays, May 29th, July 3rd, July 17th or July 24th, 2010.]

TRACK PROGRAM    what     when    where    cost    supplies     contact    registration

WHAT: This program is designed to help those runners who would like to improve their conditioning. The weekly workouts will include drills, pick-ups, pace work and speed work. The workouts are designed to improve your running form, focus, speed and your over all fitness. The program will accommodate runners of all abilities who are already running on a regular basis for a minimum of 30 minutes. Coach Carla will divide the participants into small groups of similar ability and design each week's workout for the various groups' abilities. It's a great way to improve your running with the camaraderie of your fellow athletes. Coach Carla promises that the workouts will be both fun and challenging.
  
WHEN:  Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. -- Starting Wednesday, May 19th and continuing until September 8th, 2010.

WHERE: The workouts are held at Lake Accotink Park located at 7500 Accotink Park Road in Springfield, Virginia. There is plenty parking available. We meet at the end of the parking lot in front of the damn under the train trestle.
